A new recruit to a long-established BSPC member firm in Hawick ensures a family business continues for a sixth generation. Henry Oliver, son of the firm’s director, John Oliver, has joined the team at Geo & Jas Oliver and will be based at the office in the town’s High Street.
Having graduated in law from the University of Aberdeen, Henry undertook a two-year traineeship with Stronach’s LLP, one of Scotland’s foremost independent law firms, where he gained extensive training in residential property, private clients, dispute resolution and agricultural law. Henry comments: “I am excited to be joining the family business and look forward to providing a first-class personal, friendly and efficient service to the firm’s clients, old and new.”
Henry couldn’t ask for a closer or more experienced mentor than his father, John, who adds: “I’m delighted to have Henry joining the firm as a sixth generation to serve our well-established and loyal client base. He is eager to drive the business forward – and as I joined the firm in 1974, the challenges ahead for Henry will be very different from those I encountered.”
